Our origins date back to 1985 when Auto&General was launched in South Africa.

Ask Africa Orange Index Awards

As shared by our Short-Term Insurance CEO, Alex Terblanché, our 1st for Women Insurance brand has once again been named South Africa’s Top Short-Term Insurer at the Ask Africa Orange Index Awards.

Taking home this title for the third time (2017, 2025, and 2026) is a huge moment for us – making 1st for Women the only insurer to earn this honour three times over the past decade.
