We recently commemorated Mandela Day by putting our purpose into action. TIH’ers showed up and played their part, dedicating their 67 minutes to making a difference. Through our partnership with the Food Security Program, we support food security initiatives that help strengthen communities. At LIV Village, our teams contributed to activities focused on early childhood development and creating positive experiences for children. We recently had our own World Cup experience, where two of our soccer teams competed for the TIH Champions title. The match was highly competitive, and both teams showed up ready to leave everything on the pitch. Every pass, tackle, goal attempt and goal, kept the crowd entertained and on the edge of their seats. A recent media experience at the Woodrock Cat Café in Kyalami highlighted the powerful bond between people and animals; from yoga with rescue dogs to meeting adoptable cats. The event showcased the ongoing partnership between our 1st for Women Insurance brand and Woodrock Animal Rescue, focused on creating lasting impact through monthly funding, infrastructure support, adoption initiatives and sterilisation programmes. Together, they have helped sterilise more than 1,500 animals, contributing to the humane reduction of stray populations. This Youth Month, we celebrate impactful, measurable action. Through our participation in the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme, TIH continues to unlock the potential of young people, creating opportunities in the economy, building a skilled workforce and contributing to sustainable growth. We are proud of the young people who have come through this programme over the years and of the progress they have made in gaining the skills and experience needed to shape their futures.

This Youth Month, we caught up with Khaka Nyiba, who recently joined the TIH team through our bursary programme. Reflecting on his journey, he shared how the financial support and ongoing guidance he received helped shape his academic path and prepare him for the transition into the professional world. Kaka also highlights the meaningful impact the programme has had on his life, particularly the role of mentorship and support in unlocking his potential. Now a proud TIH’er and making his mark, we look forward to seeing his continued growth and impact.

TIH’ers recently swapped their work shoes for something a little more comfortable and cosier for Slipper Day. From fluffy to funky, our people showed up in style and comfort, in support of the Reach For A Dream Foundation. Every pair of slippers worn helped raise funds to make dreams come true for children fighting life-threatening illnesses. It’s a small but meaningful way in which we continue to play our part in building a more prosperous South Africa.
