We all have potential. We all have it in us to be great, to do amazing things and reach heights that surprise even ourselves.
But potential is only a suggestion of what can be until it’s unlocked.
And that’s where we come in.

TIH and OLICO Overview:
Internal Bursaries – Employee Bursary Programme
At the heart of our strategy is Employee Development, and we are passionate about helping our team members advance in their careers by acquiring new skills through our internal bursary programme. Designed to enhance existing competencies and help employees gain new skills and knowledge through formal education, interpersonal learning, and on-the-job training over the past few years through our internal bursary programme, we have invested over R15 million in upskilling, reskilling, and cross-skilling our employees, as we believe our people are our greatest asset.
EXTERNAL BURSARIES – THE TIH BURSARY PROGRAMME
Empowering historically disadvantaged tertiary learners with financial support to be Unstoppable.
Be bold. Be bright. Dare to dream.
The insurance industry is buzzing with exciting terms like AI, data, digital innovation, personalised solutions, and customer-centric, omni-channel engagement. Yet, it faces a critical talent and skills shortage. To address this, we are on a mission to attract a new generation of talent and empower South African youth. That’s why TIH offers an external bursary programme specifically for previously disadvantaged youth aged between 18-35 years.
Our Historically Disadvantaged Persons Education (HDPE) bursary programme targets both undergraduates and postgraduates in specific fields of study. Since its inception, the Historically Disadvantaged Persons (HDP) Education bursary/grant programme has been a great success, providing funding to qualifying HDP learners registered at historically disadvantaged tertiary institutions.
We have also partnered with the University of Zululand, University of Western Cape, North-West University, and University of Limpopo for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
We believe that by nurturing talent and providing educational opportunities, we contribute to the transformation of our country. In the 2023 academic year, our students collectively achieved an impressive 43 distinctions! This remarkable achievement reflects their hard work, determination, and commitment to their studies. We are incredibly proud of their academic excellence and dedication.
